The Columbia City High School boy’s basketball team held a fundraiser on Friday, January 27, for prostate cancer awareness. The event was called “Go Blue – Shots Against Cancer.” The team auctioned off the blue basketball jerseys they wore on Friday night with a raffle that featured a bio on each teammate. The money raised is being donated to Whitley County Cancer Care Endowment Fund which is an organization that provides financial support to local non-profits that service people with cancer in Whitley County.

Linda Bewley, our Outreach Coordinator, was at the game giving away blue ribbons and selling blue prostate cancer bracelets. “The event had a lot of community participation and was so much fun,” Bewley said. Bewley was blown away by the community support and the enthusiasm of the basketball team.
