2023 Impact Report

Thank you for your care and compassion for people with cancer. We present the 2023 Impact Report so that you can see everything that you made possible last year. Without you, these services and programs would not be available for local families. Thank you again, from the bottoms of our hearts and on behalf of the thousands of families helped last year.

How You Helped Local Families

Without you, there would be thousands of families facing cancer alone. Your love and generosity gave local families practical items, financial help, emotional support, and most important of all, hope. Look at all that you made possible in 2023!

“My Client Advocate has given me another person to talk to that understands how cancer changes lives so quickly.”

“It is an emotional relief to know Cancer Services is available when needed during such a difficult time!”

William A. Kunkel Champion of Hope Award

Tribute Dinner 2023

Dr. Sreenivasa Nattam (R) with Dr. Wesley Russell (L) and Dianne May at the 2023 Tribute Dinner where he accepted the Champion of Hope award.

Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana created the Champion of Hope award in 2010 in honor of Dr. William A. Kunkel, who served as an active board member for over 50 years. This award recognizes special individuals who embody Cancer Services’ mission and demonstrate inspiring devotion to community service. In 2023, Dr. Sreenivasa Nattam received the Champion of Hope award due to his long-term commitment and kindness towards local people with cancer.

Dr. Nattam demonstrates an unparalleled devotion to Cancer Services as a volunteer, advocate, friend, and companion, leading by example and exhibiting unwavering compassion.

For over a decade, Dr. Nattam has provided annual educational sessions for clients at Cancer Services. His sessions always have a full house.

Congratulations to Dr. Sreenivasa Nattam for this achievement!

Volunteers offer hope.

Without community members who cared about the struggles of neighbors facing cancer, Cancer Services would never have existed. To this day, amazing volunteers ensure the availability of bed pads for clients, provide no-cost transportation to treatments, assist with essential tasks in the office, share information and hope at health fairs, and raise essential funds.

If you’re reading this and have ever volunteered at Cancer Services, thank you for your support. Cancer Services is honored to have you.

Top Donors

Thank you, also, to the generous donors who have such big hearts for people with cancer. We call them Champions of Hope. Your gifts are ensuring that no one in your community walks their cancer journey alone.

Cancer Services would like to recognize the top donors who make significant gifts supporting our shared mission. Click here to celebrate our top donors with us.

After an unexpected diagnosis of two cancers, Viki’s oncologist encouraged her to reach out to Cancer Services. She did and felt relieved to have someone on her side. Viki visited the wig salon with a friend. She hadn’t let anyone else see her hair loss. “That was hard, but we had so much fun trying on different wigs. And when I left, it felt so good to wear a wig that let me look normal.”
